Job Description

We Are:

Patient Access is a vital centralized service for prospective patients to obtain information related to clinical care and research, and where patients and caregivers are given expert guidance. We work in a collaborative team with highly knowledgeable oncologic nurses and administrative staff. We gain experience and learn more about cancer and individual specialties of our doctors. Help us in this strategic service with assisting and supporting patients and family members in their time of need.

You Will:

As the Associate Clinical Director of Patient Access Programs you will direct and coordinate the clinical functions of Patient Access to maximize patient access. In partnership with the Director of PAS and MSK Direct, you will lead and implement initiatives that promote an environment assuring seamless access to care and compassionate and knowledgeable service for all. In additional, you will:

  • Develop and foster relationships with multiple counterparts and key stakeholders including clinicians (Division and Service Chiefs, as well as individual Attendings), nursing leadership and administrative leadership across the organization

  • Utilizes advanced clinical skills in patient assessment to evolve and implement clinical criteria established by Service Chiefs and maintains oversight of the clinical assessment undertaken at Patient Access.

  • Oversees the people, processes, and systems that constitute the Patient Access Nurse Coordinator function.

You Need:

  • NYS RN license/registration, BSN, Master’ degree (MSN preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of clinical nursing experience in oncology, preferably in a leadership role, required.

  • Must be able to multi-task, function independently and make decisions

  • Possess exceptional communication skills and skilled in conflict resolution/negotiation

  • Evoke a high-level of diplomacy, patience, flexibility, and compassion

Hours:

  • Days, Monday - Friday#LI-MA1
