We are theOffice of Research and Project Administration (ORPA)and we play a dynamic role in all activities related to the development and submission of funding proposals and the management of research funds at MSK. ORPA is seeking an innovative leader to partner with department leadership and Research and Technology Management (RTM) divisional leadership to plan and implement new programmatic initiatives affecting the MSK research community and ORPA unit activities and staff.
Reporting to the VP, Research & Project Administration, as theAssociate Director, Research Administration Operations,you will:
Lead the overall operations of the department, ensuring appropriate and efficient provision of services, support, equipment and facilities to meet departmental, divisional and MSK goals and objectives.
Strategically partner with department and divisional leadership and MSK SME’s (e.g., HR) to develop new and existing department-wide and/or divisional or institutional programmatic initiatives and approaches, e.g. for staff engagement, professional development/performance management, department-wide onboarding, and other programs, as assigned.
Initiate, plan, run and independently guide day-to-day project activities to facilitate departmental and/or high-level initiatives with departmental, divisional or broad organizational significance, involving appropriate partners, assigning business unit resources, crafting metrics and timelines.
Provide direction, mentorship and feedback as appropriate and necessary to lead timelines and maintain accountability.
Serve as an ongoing and immediate resource to leadership and others for identifying and resolving issues, communicating information and/or facilitating required actions.

A Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) with 4-7 years of supervisory/management experience required
A minimum of 4 years of research administration experience.
Experience with grants management, data analysis and business metrics development and tracking.
Familiarity with related business systems, databases, Excel, SQL and/or Tableau (data visualization) preferred.
Strong information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret share and/or present information to employees and management staff at MSK and appropriate external contacts.
Excellent communication skills required including composing and editing a variety of documents, giving presentations and speeches, chairing and participating in meetings and project workgroups.#LI-POST
