Research Technician – Developmental Biology
This developmental biology laboratory conducts research on multicellular dynamics during the development of mouse embryos. Research technicians work as part of a talented team of molecular, cell and developmental biologists seeking an understanding of how cells move during development and how defects in this process lead to developmental disorders. Research technicians assist the investigator in research activities and contribute to research in developmental and cell biology by learning and performing a variety of experimental techniques, including molecular biology, confocal imaging, genetics, and using cutting-edge computational methods for quantitative image analysis.
Molecular biology approaches including experiments with DNA, RNA, and proteins.\
Cell and tissue biological approaches including immunohistochemistry of embryos
Fixed and live imaging of developing embryos using confocal microscopy and custom image analysis software.
Developing new methods for quantitative analysis in collaboration with an experienced experimental research team.
General lab organization.
A Bachelor’s in Biology, Biochemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related science.
Minimum of one year of undergraduate research experience required.
Experience with molecular biology techniques highly preferred.
A minimum two-year commitment is required. #LI-SB1
