Are you looking to join a creative lab? As aResearch Technicianyou will perform research activities in collaboration with internal/external personnel to complete science-based projects. You will normally receive detailed instructions while making observations, analyzing data and interpreting results according to laboratory procedures. Our Research Technician will provide support to all technical/research staff and postdocs.

Prepares laboratory instruments, solutions, stains, assays and other supplies as instructed for research experiments.
Work will involve extensive cell and tissue culture with lentiviral production and infection of cells. You will isolate proteins, DNA and RNA and perform experiments using assorted techniques including Western blots, immunoprecipitation, qRT-PCR, PCR, cell proliferation/apoptosis assays, flow cytometry, bioluminescence assays. This project will involve substantial cloning of recombinant DNA molecules including shRNA and CRISPR-Cas9.
Operate lab equipment such as centrifuges, pH meters, analytical balancers, flow cytometers, scintillation counters, spectrophotometers, light microscopes and other equipment as instructed.
May be involved in animal handling requiring injection of animals with cells or drugs. Will collect/harvest tissues or fluids during animal autopsies in order to biological samples and conduct analyses
Respond to and completes tasks as instructed by senior scientist management or staff otherwise associated with designated research projects by carrying out the requested activities
Help with other ongoing research for peers and research personnel in the laboratory by completing tasks related to the projects within the deadline specified.
Perform necessary analysis and calculations, records data and writes reports on research findings.
Be responsible for carrying out common duties necessary for maintenance of the lab including inventory and ordering of reagents and materials, making of chemical solutions, and stocking of supplies.
Display excellent organizational skills.
Have no issues conducting experience with mice or handling mice.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Sciences with a major in Biological Sciences. Either undergraduate research or up to 1 year post-degree research experience required.#LI-POST
