Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centeris located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with additional outpatient facilities in New Jersey, Long Island, and Westchester County. TheRadiotherapy Physics Service of the Department of Medical Physicsis staffed with over 50 Faculty and Senior Radiotherapy Physicists and 70 Planners. MSK has a large, cutting-edge program in all aspects of radiation oncology physics that seeks to improve the clinical effectiveness of radiation therapy in partnership with radiation oncologists, radiologists and other medical professionals. Programs in radiation therapy research and development include: the integration of MR and PET imaging into radiotherapy decision making and treatment planning, 4D imaging and motion management, the development of informatics- based and adaptive radiotherapy processes, the development and clinical use of predictive models (tumor control and normal tissue complication probability) in treatment planning, and improved treatment planning optimization algorithms (www.mskcc.org/departments/medical-physics).
Resources currently include thirty linear accelerators across eight locations, MR and PET scanners for radiation oncology applications, as well as state-of-the-art inter- and intra-fractional imaging and motion management capabilities. TheRadiotherapy Physics Service of the Department of Medical Physicsat Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a highly motivated and clinically experienced senior M.S. levelRadiotherapy Physicistfor a position based at our main campus in Manhattan.
Provide management and supervision of a team of 5-10 planners
Deliver support and leadership of new technology and procedure implementation projects
Participate in routine clinical physics QA activities
Excellent organizational, coordination, and interpersonal skills in addition to being able to communicate effectively with other members of the multi-disciplinary radiation oncology team.
Candidates should have a Masters’ degree or equivalent in medical physics or a physics-related field and five or more years of clinical experience.
ABR or equivalent certification is required as is eligibility for New York State licensure.#LI-POST
